地味な努力を積み重ねる
稲盛和夫氏（京セラとKDDIの創業者、JALの名誉会長）は、大きな夢や願望をもつことは大切なことです。しかし、ときには「自分の夢と現実の間には大きな隔たりがある」と感じて思い悩むことがあるかもしれません。偉大なことは最初からできるのではなく、地味な努力の一歩一歩の積み重ねがあってはじめてできるということを忘れてはなりません、と述べておられる。
何か新しいことを始めるときには、誰でもこういった思いを持つことだろう。私は、成功をつかめるかどうかは地味な努力をどれだけ積み重ねることが出来るかにかかっていると考えている。努力の大切さは誰でも理解しているはずだが、一番大切なのは、成功するまでその努力を続けることだ。
その次に重要なのが、努力の対象が間違っていないかどうかだ。一生懸命努力してもニーズのほとんどない対象には需要は生まれにくく、成功にはつながらないだろう。ニーズがあるとしても需要と比べて供給が多すぎる場合には、よほどの差別化戦略を取らないと、苦労の割には、なかなか報われないかもしれない。努力の前に、ニーズや競合状況をしっかりと確認する方が望ましい。
３点目は、効率の良い努力をすることだ。がむしゃらな努力をする人がいる。努力をしている点では素晴らしいのだが、１日２４時間というルールの中で戦うには、いかに効率よく努力をするかが大切と考える。人生は１回きりで、しかもあっという間に過ぎていくものだ。無駄を最大限省いて、情報収集や創意工夫で効率の良い努力の仕方を追求していくことは非常に大切と考える。

The next important thing is whether the direction of your effort is right. Even if you work hard, it will be difficult to create demand for the targets that have little need, and it will not help you lead to success. Even if there is a need, if the supply is too large compared to the demand, it may not be rewarded for the hard work without a very differentiating strategy. Before making an effort, it is desirable to confirm the needs and competitive situation.
The third is to make an efficient effort. There are people who make a crazy effort. It’s great to make an effort, but I think it’s important to make an effort efficiently in order to fight under the rule of 24 hours a day. Life is a one-time event, and it goes by in a blink of an eye. I think it is very important to pursue efficient efforts by collecting information and ingenuity while eliminating waste as much as possible.
