稲盛和夫氏（京セラとKDDIの創業者、JALの名誉会長）は著書の「京セラフィロソフィ」で次のように述べておられます。
何かを決めようとするときに、少しでも私心が入れば判断はくもり、その結果は間違った方向へいってしまいます。私たちは日常の仕事にあたって、自分さえよければという利己心を抑え、人間として正しいか、私心をさしはさんでいないかと、常に自問自答しながらものごとを判断していかなければなりません。
自社だけ儲かればいいという偏った考えでビジネスをすると、短期的には成功したとしても長続きはしない。公明正大な経営というのは私心のない判断の積み重ねだからだ。お客様も、従業員も、取引先など、そのビジネスに関わる全ての関係者が満足し、それぞれが発展していける道を模索すべきで、そこに私心など挟みようがない。儲けたいと思ったら、まずは私心を捨て去ることだ。会社に利益を残したいと思ったら、すぐに経費の使い方を見直すべきだ。そこに私的な経費やグレーなものが紛れ込んでいないかが、私心の有無を判断する尺度となる。自分だけ得すればいいという考え方を改めない限り、何においても長期的な成功や大きな成功は望み得ない。
Vol.67 Make a judgment without selfishness
Kazuo Inamori (founder of Kyocera and KDDI, Honorary Chairman of JAL) stated in his book “Kyocera Philosophy” as follows.
When trying to decide something, if even a little bit of selfishness sneaks into our thought, the judgment will not be clear, and the result will go in the wrong direction. In our daily work, we must suppress our selfishness, and judge things by asking ourselves whether we are right as human beings or not to do the thing we are working on.
If you do business with the biased idea that you only care about making a profit, even if you succeed in the short term, it will not last long. This is because fair management is the accumulation of unselfish judgments. Customers, employees, business partners, and all other parties involved in the business should be satisfied and seek a way for each to develop. If you want to make a profit, the first thing to do is to give up your selfishness. If you want to make a profit for your company, you should immediately review how you spend your expenses. How much degree of your private expenses or gray things are mixed in there is a measure for judging whether or not you are selfish. Unless you change the idea that you only care about yourself, you cannot hope for long-term success or great success in anything.
